Swollen seating makes its mark

As winter draws near, what could be more appealing than a lumpy, chunky couch to snuggle into with a cuppa and a good book?

One of several examples of ‘swollen seating’ on display at this month’s Milan Design Fair, the ‘Bread and Butter’ sofa by British designer Faye Toogood looks inviting. But then it was influenced by a slab of butter and a fat loaf of bread, while its console table was conceived by arranging real sourdough bread in thick-sliced piles!
